    Christian Colleges and Universities

Christian colleges and universities are good places to expect religious and theological studies programs. While Christian universities and colleges offer programs from a Christian worldview, keep in mind that they must meet the needs of a diverse student body, which includes students from up to 30 - 40 different religious affiliations. Therefore, whether they are non-denominational or attached to a specific tradition (such as Presbyterian, Wesleyan, Baptist, etc.), they are committed to standards of academic excellence and enquiry. Religious studies programs at Christian universities and colleges--as at all other types of universities and colleges--aim to examine human religious belief from outside any particular religious viewpoint and draws upon multiple disciplines and methods.

Theology programs, on the other hand, attempt to understand religion from within a particular religious tradition and are usually focused on preparing students for a vocation in the church. It only makes sense to find these programs at Christian universities and colleges! Indeed, many of the Christian universities and colleges in the US are both nationally and internationally recognized for innovative aspects of their theology programs, such as missionary and social outreach endeavors.

So for an undergraduate education that's both intellectually and spiritually challenging, be sure to search the Christian colleges and universities with religious and theological studies programs in the USA!
